It's been more than awhile since the last one… but DIYtrotter Sessions are back! Well, I don't have any more scheduled after this one, but hey, let's just focus on the now. And right now, there is a lovely 3 track session from the talented Max García Conover for you to not only listen to, but download for free.
Max —who's previous album Burrows you should already be familiar with, cause it's excellent— is in the middle of working on a brand new album called Ellery, and all three songs in this session are probably going to find their way on to it. But as was mentioned on The Blue Walrus earlier in the week, Max will be creating a video for each of the tracks being considered for the album, and the response to those tracks / videos will influence what gets fine tuned in the studio and put on the release (ps - that Blue Walrus post featured a video for one of the tracks on this DIYtrotter session).
And speaking of that new album… Max is currently running a DIY kickstarter (i.e. he's not using Kickstarter, he's doing it himself) to raise some money to help fund it. Watch the great video below for more info.
Did you watch it? No? Is that because you're listening to the DIYtrotter session and are planning on watching it later? Alright, totally understandable. Here's the gist:
“If you support this campaign in any way —donate, purchase, or even just spread the word about the campaign— [Max] will send you as many copies of Ellery as you want! Give them away, leave them in coffee shops, donate them, give them to the guy who knows a guy who knows John Prine, stuff them in stockings, etc.”
