Not enough people know who Joseph McNulty is, or the great music that he makes.
That's probably because he flies a bit low under the radar. But I was lucky enough to have spent some time under the radar, right before the great Myspace crash of 1998 (or maybe it was 2008, either way, it was a long time ago). My english friend, Benjamin Shaw—who was just an internet acquaintance at the time, but whom I have since met in real life and have even shared, in a completely non-sexual way, a mattress with—sent me a brilliant album of Joseph's (an album which I posted about before). But then the internet shifted and some of us kept in touch and some of us drifted apart.
Well, it seems the internet has shifted again, because just the other week I got an email from Joseph. He may have lost touch with everyone for awhile, but he also wrote a bunch of great new music. Including the brilliant and free 'Steve's Bass'. Which is 100% legitimate garage music (i.e. it actually was recorded in a garage) and is such a cool album, that your dog will put on sunglasses too.
