I had forgotten how totally bad ass amazing this song is.
It wasn't until I was listening to the opening track on Nick Waterhouse's new album that Red Right Hand snuck its way back into my subconscious. So after putting together the 1st draft of what would become Episode 31, I threw it on my phone and headed to do some much needed grocery shopping. And when Red Right Hand kicked in on my walk to Sainsbury, it hit me how creepily amazing this tune is.
I was struck with an odd urge to start theatrically lip synching the song, like some weird character out of a cartoon version of a Dickens' novel. And there was a very strong desire to get right up into a passerby's face each time the last couple lines of each verse came in and grab them by the shirt collar to warn them about this man who's right hand was red.
I restrained myself from doing it, but just barely.
