The other day, I received an email from Bandcamp informing me that Owen Dacombe Steel had just released a new album… but this isn't that album. Why? Well, two reasons:
- The "new" album was actually just 2 songs from this excellent "old" album
- That new album has since been removed
But I didn't let those two things get me too bummed out, as the whole minor incident was a good reminder that even though I have been thoroughly enjoying the loose & old-timey vibes of the appropriately titled TIME MACHINE BLUES for a good while now, for some reason it wasn't a part of my Bandcamp collection (I guess the reason was that I must have downloaded it for free back in moment of penny pinching weakness). Well, this album is too good not to kick a few shekels towards, not too mention that it's way too good to not have sitting up on my digital record shelf.
On top of that, I've also never officially said "hey this album is really great and you should all go get it" (unless you count having a track from it sandwiched in between a bunch of other tracks on one of my Favourites Of 2013 mixes). So today is a day for killing a few birds with just one stone (i.e. it's now in my collection & you've all been warned about its excellent-ness).
So go get it if you don't have it already.
